We are a small and friendly club with about 30 members:
- a mixture of adults and children
- a mixture of abilities
Fees for one year starting when the clocks go forward are:
- Family membership – 2 adults and children under 18 years – £50
- Adult membership – £30
- Student membership – £20
- Junior membership – £15
When you join, you will be given:
- a membership card – please bring this with you when you come to play
- a key so you can get onto the courts
- a tube of tennis balls to bring with you to adult club nights/afternoons
At club times we play with whoever is there, and mix partners and opponents.
In the summer (weather permitting) we play:
- on Wednesday and Friday evenings from 7-9pm
- on Sunday afternoons 3-5pm.
You can play on the courts at other times when school isn’t open and when coaching or school competitions are not taking place. This is on a first come / first served basis, but there is seldom a clash. At present we don’t have a booking system but we may get one next year.We usuallly organise coaching sessions for groups of adults, and for two groups for children. This is at an extra cost.
American Tournament – this is a fun tournament where we all play each other with a different partner each time – and a record is kept of the scores! We have a prize for the person who has won the most games. Also, everyone brings a contribution to a shared afternoon tea sitting outside on the grass. We usually end the tennis season with a social event at the house of one of the members. We all bring some food and drink to share.
Wimbledon tickets. We encourage all members to join British Tennis (via their website) and to opt into the Wimbledon ballot, even if they don’t want to go. This is because the more members who opt in, the more tickets our club is allocated for us to ballot among our members.
Annie Weir – Chair
Gail Turner – Treasurer
Lorna Atkinson – Secretary

We have an AGM near the beginning of each year, and regular committee meetings thoughout the playing season. Any ideas you have, or if you would like to be involved in running our club, please let any one of the committee know.
